WePlay Casual Sports
Mobile Application
Introduction
Project Scope
Teens, adults, and seniors who are interested in recreational sports can find difficulty locating and planning sports outings due to lack of available players, courts, and gear. Being one of the most popular pastimes in America, it is surprising that there is no popular application to facilitate or support players. This rise in interest in recreational sports in America presents an opportunity to help navigate and enhance the sporting experience.

Sketches & Wireframes
To the right are sketches and wireframe concepts. After creating a prototype layout, my early process was to design icons and graphic elements to create a distinctly active and energetic style.

Secondary Design Round
These screen designs represent the three early stylistic directions which I was looking at taking the application. The first two emphasizing the map feature and the third leaning more towards the tournaments and social aspects of the application.

Icons & Graphic Type
The design for the icons needed to be sleek and modern, utilizing a hot color scheme with cold accents to emphasize the idea of energy, activity, and excitement!
The original typeface I designed for the WePlay application used angles and negative space notches to separate letters which would otherwise be conjoined

Final Application Design
The final design of the application was created to emphasize accessibility. Inclusivity is key in the success of project WePlay.
