Rare Wilderness, Raw Adventure
Carrizo Plains: National Monument

Introduction
Project Scope
In this project, I created a marketing campaign to attract tourists to Carrizo Plains: National Monument. Beginning with in-depth research and documentation of the area, I gathered ideas and data to target the campaign at action seekers and nature lovers.
Year: 2025
Development Time: 4 weeks
Deliverables:
- 3 poster campaign
- Foldable 3 panel brochure
- 5 instagram posts
- T-shirt
Research & Ideation
After considering different angles, age groups, and campaign themes as well as type treatments and typographic styles, I decided upon the action oriented campaign. The final product uses a different tagline and font pairings as they better enhanced the campaign’s message.

Type Pairings & Color Schemes

After deciding upon the slogan Rare Wilderness, Raw Adventure (appealing to nature lovers and action seekers) I applied various color and design schemes along with each new typeface. The color palette of the center design complimented the idea of the raw and natural aspect of the Carrizo Plains best.

I decided upon the typeface Ernst for its uniquely characteristic serifs and their warm well worn in feel. The accompanying body text face Articular CF works well with Ernst and is legible at all sizes, important as the foldable brochure will be printed in small type on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper.

Preliminary Concepts
I felt a primarily illustrative campaign would work better than one overly reliant on photography as Carrizo Plains is a visually volatile area. Most often, tourists visit for the amazing wildflower blooms, Superblooms. While the photos of this are stunning, the location only looks like this every five - seven years. I wanted to create a campaign to attact tourists and locals every year, to attract them to all Carrizo has to offer year round
