Introduction
Project Scope
After spending seven weeks learning and experimenting with Blender and other 3D animation software, I began to write, score, and "film" a three minute 3D animated short film. With little time, the short film was a goal to reach, but the true object of the project was to gain experience the software.
I learned techniques in modeling, rendering, animation, scripting, sound design, editing, live 3D interactive models, and the countless other skills, all eventually needed to produce the short film.

Solo Project
Sketching & Ideation
Before any work on the film could be done digitally, worlds, characters, and a story had to be conceptualized visually on paper. To the right are a few snippets of what ended up becoming a notebook full of sketches working towards the world building, character creation, and storyboarding of the short film.





Experimentation & Modeling
Once the digital work on the film started, there was seemingly no end to the amount of test files, and separate models to be worked on. Before I even started to model landscaped and characters, I first had to learn all of the python scripting and geometry node animation techniques to bring the world to life.
